ABOUT WOBBLING YOGI

OUR MISSION

At Wobbling Yogi, we believe in being authentic, and our mission is to empower yogis on and off the mat, to let go of perfection and embrace every fall and wobble that comes along the way.

The secret of yoga isn’t in the deepest backbend or the perfect downward dog. The secret of yoga is in the things we teach ourselves through repeated visits to our mat.

Our practice is rooted in gratitude and focused on building a strong sense of self worth through compassion, non- judgement, and personal discovery.

We are honored to offer a supportive community experience for you to tap into, regardless of your race, cultural expression, gender identity or socioeconomic status.

Whoever you are, we have a space for you.

  Meet Harp

Harp Sitara - Student, Teacher, Founder & Owner

Yoga and meditation changed her life, not just her posture. Her practice helped her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat.

After months of battling depression, Harp decided it was time to reintroduce exercise back into her routine. She decided the meditative aspects of yoga would be beneficial to her mental health and bought a one month introductory pass. Her yoga mat very quickly became a safe place for her to calm the anxiety, develop a positive relationship with her body as well as reap the physical benefits of the practice. Yoga helped her through some very dark moments and she is beyond grateful of the yoga teachers who guided her through it.

Yoga taught her happiness isn’t always an indication that everything in life is perfect; instead it’s the choice to see the light in everything she can, despite how imperfect her current situation may be.

Harp initially had no intention of teaching yoga, she simply wanted to immerse herself in a training to deepen her own personal practice. Little did she know the universe had other plans. Combining personal insight, technical teaching and her quirky personality, she holds the deepest intention to awaken others to their own healing power and to experience the magic of yoga.

When she's not on her mat, you can find her walking her dog Oreo, playing volleyball, doing renovations or travelling.

She has completed her 200 hour teacher training from Modo Yoga and travelled to Singapore in 2021 to complete her Prenatal and Postpartum teacher training at Hom Yoga.

When We Wobble We…

  • Are at our edge. This is where we GROW.

If we do not reside at our edge and our wobble, we are not growing. I love Steve Jobs, and his famous line “stay hungry.” This doesn’t mean we never relax and soften because we must. But while it’s important to stay balanced between strive and soft, we still need to expand the limits of our practice. Don’t get stagnant and fixed in your comfort kangaroo pocket. Get out and wobble at your edge.

  • OPEN to creativity and joy.

Being in control all the time clamps us down and destroys the creative process. And… it’s a lot less fun. Life is short; so don’t skip drawing outside the lines. That’s part of the wobble, too.

  • LEARN more about our tendencies, patterns, and habits.

Often when we wobble, whether in a yoga pose, a relationship or our careers, we stumble in similar ways. If we pay close attention to our bailing patterns, our heartbreaks, and our dead ends, we will see where we need to redirect. This process of attention creates a treasure map to find more ease and fewer falls. Wobbling is great. But don’t keep falling the same way. Learn and redirect with a specific plan

  • Create authentic CONVERSATIONS and break the seal of perceived perfection.

Often times we pretend to be more perfect than we actually are. This closes off true connections. Especially if you are in a position of leadership, break the seal. People will be relieved to share and talk and connect to you as you really are. Nobody is perfect. Remember that, and invite authenticity – wobble and all.

  • Takings risks allows us to FLOURISH.

People who are really bright and happy are not afraid to take great risks and say no to the easy path. They know that bigger risks equal bigger rewards. A happy, balanced and flourishing life often comes with an understory of bravery and courage. So instead of being perfect, be brave.

  • Start a process of EXLORATION.

When we explore, we get to see all parts of the pose, the relationship and the day. You deserve to take the scenic route and feel it all. Don’t discount precise decisions and specific manifestations because that is essential for living how we want. And don’t forget that precise alignment in your pose is still essential to a healthy practice. But, be easy on yourself, and follow the wobble into what you love.

  • Become STRONGER.

The more we show up for hard things, the stronger we get. Hiding from the wobble won’t make us stronger. Try that pose you’ve been afraid of, and wobble into strength.

  • ACCEPT the frayed and unfinished parts for the beauty that they hold.

The most beautiful people are not walking the runways. They are the ones in the streets looking for what inspires them, wobbling around in their own imperfection. Those creating a collage of authenticity, inside and out, are always the most attractive. Look around. Get excited about your life and reach for your edge. Learn to enjoy the wobble, and be your most beautiful.

Embrace The Wobble

Yoga helps us get unstuck.

This comes from aligning the body, clearing your mind, and exploring the spirit. Yoga is a practice that transcends in every aspect of your life.

Are you feeling stuck in your own ideas of perfection, both on and off the mat? It’s time to squash these ideas and embrace the WOBBLE – that mindset where sometimes you feel uncertain, but that holds the greatest gift.

Our most creative and worthy ideas often come from wobbling and falling into the dark, and crawling out with a gemstone. Likewise, we when wobble in our poses, we often come away with a stronger connection to the world beneath our feet. So, embrace the wobble.

YOGA IS THE JOURNEY OF THE SELF, TO THE SELF,
THROUGH THE SELF.
